What to ‘Watch’ For in your Wearables

With so many features now offered in wearable technology, what is best? Runners run for numerous reasons, so the answer is dependent on the person. You want to do anything that promotes your running, so keep your motives at the forefront. Is it related to distance, number of calories, time in specific heart rate zones, etc., or is it related to technique, e.g., ground contact time, stride frequency, etc.? We can also capitalize on the research to know which variables have verified utility for all runners. As an example, there is evidence to support running with less vertical impact peak and less horizontal braking force reduces risk of injury. Elaborate wearables include workload estimates with both delayed and real-time feedback, information that was previously only available in a laboratory setting.

We are lucky to have all these metrics just arms-length away now. Personalize your running bliss with a wearable that matches!
